I got my Masters degree from Cleveland Institute of Music and later my doctorate degree from University of Illinois. At age 15, I moved to Beijing to study at the China Conservatory. I started playing the piano when I was 4. The island is named “the island of piano” for its classical music culture brought by the Christian missionaries in the early 1900s. The registration price includes lunch and a t-shirt. Amy Humberd, instructor of clarinet at Lee University.Įarly bird registration for students is $15 and late registration is $20. This inaugural year of Lee University Clarinet Day is coordinated by Dr. Students will rehearse, workshop music, perform in masterclass contexts for instructors beginning at 8:30am and learn through the afternoon and into the evening until their culminating Clarinet Choir performance and an opportunity to attend a faculty recital at the end of the day. On February 19th, middle and high school clarinet students will have the opportunity to visit campus and engage in masterclasses, breakout sessions, workshops, and even play in an ensemble format with high level instructors represented by the Lee University School of Music. Students interested in auditioning for degree programs in music must pre-register for an audition HERE. Registration is open online for all students HERE. The university’s public relations and recruitment teams are excited and anticipatory for a successful reemergence of the in-person Lee Day experience for current students and visiting families alike.

Lee University COVID-19 Taskforce team made a quick shift to the virtual platform for Lee Day in 2020 as the Coronavirus halted all on-campus activities, creating the temporary yet successful Lee Day Live event which was in effect through 2021. The much-anticipated Lee Day 2022 will be held on April 1-2, 2022 and will be hosted in cooperation with Lee University School of Music auditions for incoming music students as well as an exciting weekend of music programming, including the opening of Tuck Everlasting produced in cooperation with Lee University Theatre.

Lee Day is the campus’s largest and best attended promotional day of the year, bringing in hundreds of students and families to campus for student life events, music festivals, theatre productions, and information sessions for incoming Lee students. Lee University and the School of Music are proud to cooperate on the first in-person Lee Day since 2019 and the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic.
